Load and Soil testing have a significant impact on the construction industry. By employing our services, engineers can design structures that are tailored to the unique characteristics of the site.

Load and Soil testing

Load Testing by Brexol Group

Our testing involves the direct measurement of pile head dislodgment in response to a physically applied load. A calibrated hydraulic jack loads the test pile which in turn applies the test load to the pile by pushing against a beam placed directly over the test pile.

The test beam is controlled by an anchorage system consisting of response piles installed in the adjacent ground to provide tension resistance. As per the testing-specified testing requirements, once the load test frame is in place and fully instrumented, the hydraulic jack applies the test load in a series of increments.

In the world of construction and engineering, the importance of soil and load testing services cannot be overstated. These crucial assessments play a pivotal role in determining the stability and safety of structures, ensuring that they are built on a solid foundation. Soil and load testing services provide invaluable information about the characteristics and behavior of the soil, enabling engineers to make informed decisions and take appropriate measures to mitigate risks. This article explores the significance of soil and load testing services, their methods, and their impact on the construction industry.

Understanding Soil Testing

Pile Integrity Testing

Pile Integrity Testing is an important tool for ensuring the integrity and trustworthiness of a structure in order to protect it from further damage.

This testing allows accurate detection of any defects present before they can cause more harm, thereby preserving safety standards and reducing long-term costs associated with repair or replacement.

Soil testing is a critical step in the construction process, as the characteristics of the soil can greatly influence the structural integrity of a building. Soil tests evaluate various parameters such as soil composition, moisture content, compaction, bearing capacity, and permeability. By conducting comprehensive soil tests, engineers can determine the appropriate foundation design, assess the potential for settlement, and identify any soil-related issues that may impact the structure’s stability. This vital information allows for informed decision-making and ensures the implementation of appropriate foundation systems.

About Us

Load Tests by Brexol Group

Brexol Group conducts load tests on piles for compression, tension, or lateral loads. Our test results can be used to confirm that the pile design load can be adequately supported by providing actual capacity and deflection values. These results will help project cost savings by allowing an increase in the pile design load, and a decrease in the overall pile length, or volume in problematic or unknown soil conditions.

Soil Penetration Tests

Brexol Group conducts SPTs to determine the type and nature of soils at vivid depths and to determine soil penetration resistance at various depths for geotechnical design purposes.

The test is useful for defining any soil’s bearing capacity, density, and angle of shearing resistance. It can be used to determine the assets of cohesive and cohesionless soil. The Standard Penetration Test method is ASTM D1586-11.

About Us

Static Vertical Load Testing

Static vertical load testing is most normally applied for assessing pile-bearing capacity. It’s most commonly put to use for assessing the burden defiance applicability of extremely deep foundations before the erection of the building.

The main distinction between this class of testing from the rapid and dynamic load tests is that it’s applied to deeper foundations fairly slowly.

The Static Vertical haul testing is being specifically performed for validating the foundation design hypotheticals covering either axial compression or the axial strain defiance that has been extended by rudiments of deeper foundations.

Dynamic Load Testing

A dynamic weight test is the prompt, effective, and utmost reliable approach for assessing the momentum-bearing volume. This singular testing out is finalized on propelled piles, drilled beams, spiral piles, and many distinguishable types of cast in- environs foundations.

We like to make it easy

1

Load Testing Services

In addition to soil testing, load testing is another crucial aspect of ensuring structural stability. Load tests are conducted to assess the behavior and capacity of a structure when subjected to anticipated loads. They help determine whether a building, bridge or any other infrastructure can withstand the expected weight and stresses throughout its service life.

2

Non-destructive testing

Different types of load tests are performed based on the specific requirements of the project. Some common load testing methods include static load testing, dynamic load testing, proof load testing, and non-destructive load testing. These tests provide valuable insights into the structural response, deformation, and durability of the construction, ensuring that it meets safety standards and regulatory requirements.

3

Ensuring Stability and Safety

Soil and load testing services provide invaluable information about the characteristics and behavior of the soil, enabling engineers to make informed decisions and take appropriate measures to mitigate risks. These crucial assessments play a pivotal role in determining the stability and safety of structures, ensuring that they are built on a solid foundation.
